Description: | Hosted by Textile Exchange and Solidaridad - This seminar will address many of the concerns that affect the textile industry and update you on recent developments globally. While organic cotton remains a vital element in the sustainable sourcing strategies of brands, they are also looking at other raw materials including different cotton options, recycled fibers, as well as cellulosic fibers. There is also an increased interest in reducing the environmental footprint of wet processes, including cleaner production, the use of more sustainable chemicals and the development of innovative and efficient technologies. These are the 2 areas of textile sustainability we will be focusing on during this seminar. Bangladesh has been chosen as a key manufacturing country. We believe that we can actively assist Bangladeshi manufacturers to respond to the new trends impacting on the sourcing decisions of the brands and help to position these manufacturers to take full competitive advantage of the changes taking place. |
Learning from the reasons behind the decrease of organic cotton production world-wide.
